Meet Sarah Smith:
the Institute for Natural Philosophy
Director of Public Relations.
The Institute for Natural Philosophy administrative role of Director of Public Relations is filled by Sarah Smith.

Sarah’s overall experiences have prepared her perfectly to assume the role of Director of Public Relations. The Institute for Natural Philosophy is both excited and honored to have someone of her experience and dedication represent us in our public endeavors. Her decision to come back into the corporate world was not a light decision and we are grateful for her willingness to manage the balance between her family life and her Institute for Natural Philosophy work.
Sarah is involved in many facets of the Knoxville Global Heritage Initiative as Director of Public Relations. She will be working with key individuals to develop the public programs and events for all aspects of the project as well as the Appalachian Crafters’ and Artisans’ Association.
Professionally Sarah developed an extensive background early in public relations having jobs focused on dealing with the public, often on a one-to-one basis, handling customer service related issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Sarah obtained a Masters degree and spent the next 10 years climbing the corporate ladder with the same company into management.
She became pregnant and decided to dedicate herself to raising her child so she left the corporate world behind. As a dedicated stay-at-home mom raising her daughter, who is on the autism spectrum, Sarah balanced family life with her personal passions while supporting her husband in his military career.
That changed when Sarah joined the Institute for Natural Philosophy in a public capacity as a podcaster, then became a board member and finally the Director of Public Relations. Her dedication to these roles represents her desire to amplify the Institute of Natural Philosophy’s core mission to research, educate, explore ideas, and present information in history, science, humanities, and beyond.
Sarah’s personal interests span spirituality in practice, ancient history, strange anomalies, autism research, neurodivergence, extrasensory perception, and related frontier topics.
It should also be noted that Sarah is still performing her original position as the co-host of Universe Unveiled, an official podcast of the Institute for Natural Philosophy. She presents weekly news updates and participates in interviews of individuals related to philosophy, consciousness, ancient mysteries, and independent research. She brings a thoughtful, inquisitive perspective to these areas, drawing from personal experience and her commitment to research and uncovering truths.
